广东省云浮市，位于广东省中西部，全市总人口250.8万人，其中农业人口174万人，全市总面积7779.1平方公里，其中耕地125.2万亩。
改革开放后特别是新市运作以来，云浮市畜牧业有了很大的发展，涌现出许多规模化饲养禽畜的龙头企业、专业户和重点户，推动了全市畜牧业走向商品化和产业化。
全市从事畜牧业生产的龙头企业有14家，其中广东温氏食品集团年产鸡苗1.6亿只，上市肉鸡1.39亿只，肉猪14.27万头，加工饲料64.7万吨，年销售收入16.1亿元，是全国农业产业化国家重点龙头企业。万益养鸡公司、多威实业公司、新兴食品联营公司等5家禽畜企业年销售收入也超亿元。
全市生猪存栏50头以上的专业户有1837户，每批养鸡2000只以上的养殖户有6500多户。在畜牧业龙头企业的带动下，全市有2万多养殖户实现勤劳致富。
2000年，全市肉类总产量17.3万吨，比上年增长8.6%，其中禽肉占57%，猪肉占42%，牛、羊、免肉占1%。初步统计全市畜牧业总产值28.4亿元，占农业总产值31.19%。
云浮市畜牧业在科技院校技术上的支持和配合下，已攻克鸡、猪良种繁育、饲料配方等项关键技术，其中优质新兴黄鸡选育与产业化等3项研究成果达到国内领先水平，肉鸡育种、瘦肉型猪良种繁育体系、肉鸡安全生产等方面进入了国际先进行列，快大系列"三黄羽肉鸡配合饲料"生产水平已经远优于国家"九五"科技项目提出的攻关标准，每年为企业节约饲料数千万元，1999年获中国国际农业博览会名牌称号。（云浮市农业委员会供稿）

Yunfu Municipality is located in the central-west Guangdong
Province, China. It has a total population of 2.508 million,
including an agricultural population of 1.74 million. It occupies
a total area of 7779.1square km, including 83,466.67 hectare
of cultivated land.
Since the implementation of the reform and opening up policy
in rural area, especially since the establishment of the Municipality,
a new city at prefecture level, Yunfu has made notable achievements
in developing animal husbandry. Numerous leading enterprises
of large scale as well as specialized and key households for
livestock raising have emerged, thus promoting the development
of the industrialization and commercialization of Yunfu's animal
husbandry.
There are 14 leading enterprises engaging in livestock raising
in the Municipality. The Guangdong Wen's Food (Group) Company
is one of the key leading enterprises of agricultural industrialization
in China, with an annual production capacity of 1.6 hundred
million birds of chicks, 1.39 hundred million birds of market
table chicken, 142.7 thousand heads of market porkers, 647
thousand tons of processed feed, creating an annual income
of sales up to 16.1 hundred million RMB Yuan. Besides, there
are also another 5 livestock enterprises with an annual sales
income of over one hundred million RMB Yuan, including the
Wan Yi Chicken Breeding Co., the Duo Wei Industry Co., and
the Xinxing Food Integrated Co.
There are 1,837 pig-raising households in Yunfu, each with
a hog population of over 50. There are also 6,500 chicken
farming households, each with a raising capacity of over 2,000
birds. The leading animal husbandry enterprises have led over
20 thousand households to become better off through livestock
raising.
In 2000, Yunfu had a total meat production of 173 thousand
tons, an increase by 8.6% over that of 1999, among which 57%
is poultry, 42% pork, and 1% beef, mutton and rabbit. According
to preliminary statistics, the total output value of animal
husbandry in Yunfu is 28.4 hundred million RMB Yuan, being
31.19% of total output value of agriculture.
With the support of and in coordination with sci-tech institutions,
a number of technical hard nuts have been cracked, including
breeding technology of fine breeds of chicken and pig as well
as recipe of feeds. Three items of such achievements, including
selective breeding and industrialization of Xinxing yellow
chicken, have been ranked at an advanced level in China, while
achievements such as table poultry breeding, breeding system
of lean meat pig breed and safe farming of table poultry,
at a world advanced level. With an efficiency of saving feed
totally valued dozens millions RMB Yuan for our enterprises
every year and at a production level far beyond the standard
according to the national " 9th five-year plan ",
the grow-fast series of feed supporting "three-yellow
chicken" farming, was entitled name brand at the China
